When you are looking for that bread taste and your menu is not that casual, try healthy recipes for spoonbread. It is slightly more dense and creamy. Once the batter is in the pan, you slowly pour in milk directly on top of your batter, without mixing it in. You just have to try it. The bonus is to reheat any leftover spoonbread the next morning and serve with butter and maple syrup or honey. Yummy!
1/4 cup all-purposes flour
1 Tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powdew
3/4 cup yellow cornmeal
1 beaten large egg
1 cup of milk
2 Tablespoons butter
1/2 cup additional milk

Sift together the flour, salt, sugar and baking powder.
