There are times when we want to choose all the appetizers and skip the main course all together.  They can be the most interesting part of the meal sometimes. One of  our tricks when making one of our old standby main dishes is to serve an appetizer that is a bit of change up.  One of our favorites is Roasted Red Peppers.  These can quickly become addictive,  you have been warned!

Healthy Salads

Try using a different lettuce every once in a while.  Arugula is widely available in most areas.  If you haven’t tried  it yet, you need put it on your grocery list this week.  It has a slight peppery taste. Arugula with avocado slices couldn’t be easier. Drizzle a bit of balsamic vinegar,  freshly grated black pepper and you are done. Yummy.

Healthy Sides

Learn to take short cuts in the kitchen.  Don’t forget you can use your microwve oven instead of your traditional oven. Everyone loves Squash Casserole, when you don’t have bake it,  you might find it on your dinner table more often.  Or try a cold Green Bean Salad instead of the normal steamed beans.  Adding more vegetables to your diet is easy if you think outside the box a bit.
