Healthy Low Salt Recipes
Any vegetable that is orange in color is rich in vitamins. Add color to your dinner plate whenever you can. Low sodium healthy low salt recipes are a great twist on traditional vegetables. Feel free to substitute apple cider for the brandy.

Ingredients

1 whole acorn squash
1 pat of butter
3 dried apricots
2 dried plums
1 tablespoon yellow raisins
1 tablespoon dried cherries
1/2 cup brandy

Free Healthy Cooking Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cut the squash in half. Scoop out the seeds and any membrane.
Place the halves, upside down, on a greased baking sheet.
Bake for 30 minutes.
Flip the squash right side up and place one half a pat of butter in each half.
Bake an additional 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, place the fruit and brandy in a small saucepan.
Heat the fruit mixture on low heat for about 10 minutes to soften the fruit. Do not allow the brandy boil.
To serve, spoon the fruit in the squash centers then add a few turns of freshly ground black pepper.
